Sega Forever Might Come To Nintendo Switch

In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Sega’s Mike Evans revealed that their newly announced initiative, Sega Forever, has the possibility of being released on Nintendo Switch.

“My first focus is mobile. It’s a huge project and what I really want to do is get mobile right. After this, there are options: we can look at desktop, Facebook, we could even take these games to consoles like Switch.”

Sega Forever would be huge on Switch. Essentially, the application allows player access to a massive library of retro Sega games. Given the Switch’s lack of Virtual Console (currently), this could fill the void. Given that Sega Forever wouldn’t be on Switch for years, though, it’s likely that VC will be out by then. Still, that could be a killer 1-2 punch in terms of classic subscription services.

Here’s the official description of Sega Forever:

SEGA® Forever™ is a free and growing classic games collection of nearly every SEGA game ever released from every console era – Master System, Genesis/Mega Drive, Dreamcast, and more. Available on iOS and Android mobile devices.”
