Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin 850,000 copies shipped Sales

Publisher Marvelous and developer Edelweiss have announced that Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin has shipped over 850,000 copies. This includes both physical and digital sales. In November 2020, the game was sitting at 500,000 global sales, which means that Sakuna has shipped an additional 350,000 in two months.

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin has received critical acclaim from a variety of outlets, and in our review, we called it a delightful journey and praised its mixture of life simulation and combat mechanics.

The game launched on Nov. 10, 2020 in North America and is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC. Throughout the game, you’ll tend to your home while also exploring sidescroller-type levels. There is an addictive gameplay loop that will surely keep you hooked for many hours. The popularity of Sakuna actually caused Marvelous’s stock price to dramatically increase, and Edelweiss has interest in developing a sequel.

The game is currently available to purchase on the Nintendo Switch eShop for $39.99 / £34.99. You can also grab a physical release of the game from certain retailers, with a Divine Edition also being available. This edition includes some extra goodies, such as an artbook and soundtrack.
