Rune Factory 4 Special delayed to 2020 to feel more special

Rune Factory 4 Special delay 2020 XSEED Marvelous

Marvelous’s Rune Factory 4 Special has been delayed into 2020 on Nintendo Switch according to the release date info on Nintendo’s page for the game, and emails from publisher XSEED shared to Reddit suggest the game could now release as a “best estimate” in late February 2020. Meanwhile, the game is already available in Japan. Thanks are due to Siliconera for aggregating this info.

Rune Factory 4 Special and Rune Factory 5 were announced in a Nintendo Direct back in February. Rune Factory 4 originally released for Nintendo 3DS in October 2013, whereas Rune Factory 5 is a brand new title in development for Nintendo Switch with a tentative 2020 release date.

The revamped Rune Factory 4 Special will feature a new difficulty option, new cinematics, HD graphics, and episodes of a new “Newlywed Mode.” I don’t know what Newlywed Mode encompasses, but doesn’t that just have a pleasant ring to it? I bet most video games would benefit from having that, in fact. I would play Resident Evil 4 Newlywed Mode.
