Runbow for Nintendo Switch has a new release date (and it’s soon)

Three years after its release on the Wii U, and one delay later, Headup Games and 13AM Games’ Runbow is finally close to making its Switch debut.  On July 3rd, it will be available digitally in the Nintendo eShop.  However, there is a downside.  If you choose to buy the game digitally you will not be getting the DLC.  Which will be part of the Deluxe Edition arriving in stores later this year.

Runbow is a colorful platforming game which allows up to nine people to play online at once.  Among its other features are a level creator and various costumes.  Players choose from an array of colorful characters and race around a map, but here is where things get tricky.  As the backgrounds change color, platforms that resemble the same color disappear, creating various voids throughout each level.

It also boasts a single-player mode with over 140 levels.  As mentioned earlier, Runbow encountered a delay which pushed back its original digital release date of April 24th.  It was also supposed to have a retail release of June 14th.  The delay caused both Headup and 13AM to release a statement.  In the statement, both studios said the delay was so they could “Optimize the game’s performance”.
