Rumor: Switch outsold PS4 and XBO combined in December

An industry insider by the pseudonym Benji has posted leaked information from December’s NPD report. This leak indicates that the Nintendo Switch sold more than 2 million units in the US in December, outselling the PS4 and Xbox One combined.

We recommend taking these numbers with a huge grain of salt. Nintendo Enthusiast has not previously reported on Benji’s leaks and cannot independently authenticate the figures. Given the widespread coverage of the report on other gaming news websites, we felt it would be fair to provide the numbers here given the trust that other sites have in the source.

If the number is accurate, it would indicate December was a massive month for the hybrid gaming console. Nintendo hopes to sell 20 million units of the Switch during the fiscal year; these numbers would indicate the company well on its way to accomplishing the milestone.
