At The Game Awards 2020, publisher Riot Forge and developer Airship Syndicate revealed the first Ruined King: A League of Legends Story gameplay trailer. It’s a single-player turn-based RPG from the same people who create Battle Chasers: Nightwar and Darksiders Genesis, and it certainly seems to be in good hands. In fact, this new game sure looks a lot like Battle Chasers, thanks in part to the unmistakable and beautiful art design of Joe Madureira. The other reason for the resemblance is that there are traps and interactive elements in the dungeon-crawling. You likely won’t be getting bored traversing these dungeons. In any case, in Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, the “fate of Bilgewater is in your hands.”
Riot Forge also announced earlier today that Ruined King: A League of Legends Story will now release in a general 2021 window, as opposed to a previously announced “early 2021″ release window. The reason for the slight delay is a vague “number of challenges” outside of the developers’ control (aka COVID). The game is slated to launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and later PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, and it was originally announced in December 2019.
