Riot Forge Showcase with Nintendo Switch landing tomorrow, Nov. 16

Riot Forge Showcase with Nintendo Switch Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story Ruined Kingdom Wild Rift indie third-party LoL games

Both Riot Games publishing arm Riot Forge and Nintendo’s Indie World social media are promoting a Riot Forge Showcase with Nintendo Switch, set to premiere tomorrow, November 16, at 11 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. PT. Explicit details on what will appear at the showcase have not been divulged, but it will clearly show more of the third-party Riot Forge League of Legends games in development for Nintendo Switch. That at least includes Choice Provisions’ rhythmic runner game Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legend Story (which launches on Switch tomorrow) and Airship Syndicate’s turn-based RPG Ruined King: A League of Legends Story. It will likely include Double Stallion Games’ single-player action platformer Convergence: A League of Legends Story as well. You can watch a teaser video for the Riot Forge Showcase with Nintendo Switch and see if you can make sense of the images that flash on screen.

It sure would be great if even more League of Legends spin-off games are revealed tomorrow, but if it’s a giant advertisement for Hextech Mayhem and Ruined King, that will still be enough to please some fans. Hextech Mayhem developer Choice Provisions created the Bit.Trip / Runner series, and Airship Syndicate created Battle Chasers: Nightwar and Darksiders Genesis, so Riot Games really knows how to pick the right developers for the right projects.

What is more nebulous is whether League of Legends: Wild Rift will ever arrive on consoles like Riot Games said it would, as right now it’s just a mobile game. Since Wild Rift doesn’t seem to fall under the Riot Forge label, we probably shouldn’t expect to see it at the showcase with Nintendo Switch tomorrow.
