Resident Evil 2 N64 dev team will stream the remake on Twitch, give commentary

Resident Evil 2 remake Nintendo 64 development team

The fact that the Resident Evil 2 remake has no Switch release in the works is a bitter, but expected, pill to swallow. The game has however released today for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows, meaning Twitch will be exploding with playthroughs. Personally, I’m not a Twitch guy; if it isn’t GDQ or EVO, I never tune in. But maybe I can make an exception for this one: On Feb. 1 at 5 p.m. EST, “The original N64 Resident Evil 2 developers are getting together to play through the Resident Evil 2 remake with commentaries and original N64 gameplay!”

Sounds dope to me. Seemingly no further information on this stream has been provided, but RE2 was ported to Nintendo 64 by Angel Studios, which is known these days as Rockstar San Diego (yes, the Grand Theft Auto Rockstar). This version of the game was celebrated for a number of enhancements and for overcoming the limitations of the Nintendo 64’s cartridge format. So suffice to say, this should be a pretty insightful Twitch stream we have coming our way.

You can catch it at this Twitch channel, so let us know if you plan on tuning in!
