Ren & Stimpy officially join Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl as a bruisin’ duo

Ren & Stimpy character join Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl trailer gameplay moves GameMill Entertainment Ludosity Play Labs

Ren & Stimpy is the quintessential Nickelodeon cartoon that you probably would not see made for Nickelodeon today, due to its graphic and mature sense of humor, and that’s why people of a certain age seem to remember it so fondly. So it only makes good business sense that publisher GameMill Entertainment and developers Ludosity and Fair Play Labs have announced that Ren & Stimpy are coming to Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl as a two-in-one character, like Banjo & Kazooie or Duck Hunt from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Joel Nyström, project manager at Ludosity, provided additional details about the characters at the PlayStation.Blog, including some concept art. Ren and Stimpy will use each other’s bodies as weapons during battle and express their unique personalities, despite operating as one unit. Nyström further explained, “Ren rides on Stimpy’s shoulders which makes them slower than other characters, but they often attack in multiple directions together. Ren deals lower initial damage and Stimpy deals higher, but delayed damage.” Further capturing the spirit of Ren & Stimpy in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, the characters have a bouncing Blammo log projectile. And of course, Powdered Toast Man is already in the game.

There was a leak of future Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl characters a while back, but it’s a lot more fun to see characters like Ren & Stimpy formally unveiled like this. CatDog and April O’Neil made for cool reveals as well.
