Once-prominent Nintendo second party developer Rare Ltd. has announced it’s opening an online storefront. The news comes via Twitter, in which the company teased a few store items. Rare will be offering two figurines by TOTAKU of their Banjo-Kazooie and Conker characters, as well as a Banjo-Kazooie Stubbins. Although primarily a Capcom and Sony licensed-seller, Stubbins is partnering with Rare for its Banjo-Kazooie plushie. We may also see a few other Rare-licensed products via Stubbins soon enough.
As you may have seen, Banjo-Kazooie and Conker figures are both joining the Totaku range soon, and you can look forward to an adorable Banjo-Kazooie Stubbins plushie too! Better yet, we’re making plans for a Rare online store with plenty more where those came from. Stay tuned… pic.twitter.com/pzfiYVn96L

TOTAKU announced their Banjo-Kazooie and Conker figurines just a few days ago. A better look at the two figures can be seen below.
Rare is responsible for developing classic Nintendo titles such as Battletoads, GoldenEye 007, Jet Force Gemini and the Donkey Kong Country series. In 2002, Microsoft purchased the development studio for $375 million. The company went on to create titles for the Xbox consoles, including Grabbed by the Ghoulies, Kameo: Elements of Power, Viva Piñata, and a remake of the raunchy N64 title Conker’s Bad Fur Day, Conker: Live & Reloaded,. Most recently, the studio was responsible for the Xbox One and Windows pirate adventure title Sea of Thieves.
Rare hasn’t given an exact date on when their storefront will be opening, or what else they’ll be selling for that matter, but nostalgic Nintendo fans can’t help but be excited. Rare has the potential to sell licensed goods featuring their beloved N64-era characters, and hopefully that includes cult classics like Blast Corps, and Jet Force Gemini. Donkey Kong might be entirely off the table and in Nintendo’s hands, but one can hope.
