Dead by Daylight Silent Hill update brings Pyramid Head, Cheryl Mason

Silent Hill Dead by Daylight on Switch to get cross-play and cross-progression

Though I’m not generally huge on multiplayer games, one I keep coming back to time and time again is Dead by Daylight. The combination of asymmetric gameplay and horror elements really creates an experience unlike anything I’ve played before. It’s a bit hard to fathom given all the updates and new content for the game, but Dead by Daylight has been out for four years already. In a celebration stream commemorating this occasion this afternoon, the development revealed a milestone crossover set to release next month. Sound the siren, because we’re entering the world of Silent Hill — and Pyramid Head and Cheryl Mason are coming along for the ride.

One of the best parts about Dead by Daylight is the ability to play as or against some of the most recognizable horror icons in the world. From Freddy Krueger to Stranger ThingsDemogorgon, these killers have always come from film and television. Now though, we’re finally getting into video game territory, and there’s no better place to start than with Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2.

As with most new chapters, the Silent Hill pack will contain three major pieces of content. Pyramid Head (referred to as The Executioner) takes the role of the new killer. With his trusty Great Knife in hand, The Executioner can attack targets at range, as well as send them to makeshift hooks from anywhere. Cheryl Mason also joins the fray as the game’s new survivor, and Midwich Elementary School serves as the new map.

Though Left 4 Dead‘s Bill made an early appearance on the survivor roster, the full content this new chapter provides will hopefully open the door for future game collaborations in the future. I could easily see someone like Resident Evil 2‘s Mr. X making their way into Dead by Daylight, but only time will tell. For now though, you won’t have to wait long to get your hands on this new content pack. Though an official date was not given, the Silent Hill chapter is scheduled for launch next month.
