NBA 2K18 has been out for a few weeks now, but the physical edition of the Switch version has only just released today (October 17th). The Switch version of the game sparked some big controversy a while back when it was revealed that a microSD card would be required to play regardless of whether it’s the digital or physical edition. This is due to 2K opting to go with a cartridge size that’s too small to hold all of the game’s data. As a result, a very obvious disclaimer is at the top of the physical boxart, indicating the requirement of an Internet connection and a microSD card.
With this requirement being unavoidable, GameStop is trying to ease the blow just a little by offering a small discount on Sandisk microSD cards when you purchase the physical edition of NBA 2K18 on Switch. The discount applies to the 64GB card ($5 off) and the 128GB card ($8). These discounts are obviously nothing major, but it’s something at least.
