PSA: Target offering Super Mario Maker 2 lunchbox free with purchase

Super Mario Maker 2 lunchbox

There’s always a question as to whether or not to purchase a game in physical or digital form. When it comes to Super Mario Maker 2, many have been itching to jump back in since its last-gen release. If you still plan to pick up the game in physical form, though, now might be a good time to swing by a Target store. Purchasing the game might secure you a cool tin to pack your sammich in.

Surprises are in store

I don’t know if it was well-known that these Mario lunch kits would be part of the game purchase. But, after seeing another person in a Facebook group show off their loot, it was time for me to head down to my local store. One only needs to purchase the base game for this reward. There is also the bundle that includes a year of Nintendo Online for US $10 more.

Obviously, something like this Super Mario Maker 2 lunchbox will only have limited quantities available. So, why are you still here reading this?

On the other side

I will admit, I did work for the retail giant for a good number of years (seven to be exact). During this time, as I was in management, I had to forfeit most of my opportunities to get bonus content with the games that I purchased. If it was a figure, pin, or any other trinket, it was my responsibility to make sure theĀ guest got theirs first.

It has been several years since I left the retail environment. I do know, though, that there are fairly strict rules when it comes to holds and quantities available. So, if you’re planning to call ahead about this Mario lunchbox, I’d be prepared to get a vague answer. Your best bet is to just head down as soon as you can and make sure karma is on your side.

Super Mario Maker 2 officially launches today on the Nintendo Switch. For the uninitiated, the game is a sequel to the Wii U and 3DS title which allows you to custom build Super Mario courses with whatever challenges you see fit.
