Last year was the 30th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog, but Sega is looking to celebrate the franchise more with the Project Sonic ’22 campaign. The new campaign project by Sega isn’t any video games in particular, but mostly a celebration of all things Sonic in 2022. Today, we got a look at key artwork, the logo, and free official wallpapers from Sega.
Now that the 30th anniversary is over, Sega is moving forward with Project Sonic ’22 (Two-Two according to Sega) to keep things going. The upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie and Sonic Frontiers video game are the main highlights of the project, but Sega says that it has many other developments in the works for the occasion.
The image (shown on top) is the key artwork for Project Sonic ’22. It shows Sonic on a ring that’s made to represent a path to new worlds. The worlds shown on the other side of the ring will change throughout the campaign. The message “Welcome to the next level” from Sega is about the next 30 years of entertainment that we can look forward to.
Sega also made a special logo for the project.
The Sonic Channel has prepared for the occasion with a big batch of special digital content to commemorate the occasion. It includes wallpapers for your PC and smartphone featuring Sonic and friends.
The Project Sonic ’22 wallpapers are also available in calendar format.
Sega has yet to reveal everything, but stay tuned for more announcements on Sonic the Hedgehog and Project Sonic ’22 later this year.
