Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid was fairly well received by us at Nintendo Enthusiast, but there’s no denying the game launched feeling a little barebones. Developer nWay is taking steps to rectify that feeling, as they have finally released a story mode for the game. It was written by Kyle Higgins, a writer of Power Rangers comic books, and art was provided by Go Go Power Rangers comic artist Dan Mora. Two new selectable arenas, “Corinth and Planet Earth: Cenozoic Era,” have been added as well.
The story mode in Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid adapts the “Shattered Grid” storyline from the comics, in which an alternate universe Tommy becomes genuinely evil as Lord Drakkon and seeks to conquer all of reality. So, you know, the usual. The developer got a handful of the original show actors to voice their characters in the game, including Jason David Frank (Tommy Oliver), Austin St. John (Jason Lee Scott), David J. Fielding (Zordon), and Kerrigan Mahan (Goldar). Check out the reveal trailer below.
As previously reported, there are three free new characters available now as well. Does all of this sweeten the deal and make you more likely to purchase Battle for the Grid, if you haven’t already? Let us know!
