Pokémon Sword and Shield launch this November

Pokémon Sword and Shield release date | Pokémon Shield Legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamanteza

Pack your bags and get ready to head to the Galar Region! In just over five months, you’ll be exploring everything it has to offer. Game Freak first revealed Pokémon Sword and Shield in February, teasing a “late 2019” release window. Since then, they’ve been finishing up the game’s content and improving its graphics. Progress is right on schedule, and today they finally unveiled the official release date. You can experience the eighth generation of Pokémon games on November 15, 2019. That’s a worldwide release date, so everyone can enjoy at the same time.

This isn’t a super shocking date, as Nintendo often schedules its best exclusives in November. Typically, they release a system-seller one week before Black Friday. In this case, Pokémon Sword and Shield will release two weeks before Black Friday. Perhaps Nintendo has another big title they’re saving for the more coveted release date? Either way, the new Pokémon games will release in time for the holidays. After Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee sold over 10 million copies, I’d expect these two new titles to pull in huge numbers as well.

Are you excited for the next generation of Pokémon games based on what you’ve seen so far? I sure am! Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
