We knew Pokémon Legends: Arceus was going to sell ludicrously well, the same way that we know the sky is blue and that OJ Simpson isn’t really looking for “the real killer.” But now we know exactly how well it’s been selling. Nintendo has announced that Pokémon Legends: Arceus sales have already topped 6.5 million units since its launch last Friday, January 28. That’s seemingly even better than the launch sales of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, which The Pokémon Company had said sold more than 6 million units during its first week on the market.
Thank you to the more than 6.5 million explorers worldwide who have already embarked on an exciting new adventure in #PokemonLegendsArceus!

Earlier today, we reported that Pokémon Legends: Arceus sales in Japan had tallied up to 1.425 million in just its first three days of availability. Incidentally, that number was slightly higher than Japanese launch sales of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (and of Sword and Shield) as well. If these trends continue — and they probably will, based on the strength of review scores — then we can expect Arceus to sell roughly as well or maybe even better than a traditional mainline release in the series. If you’ve actually played the game, perhaps you’re not surprised to hear this.
