Pokémon Legends: Arceus impresses with largely positive reviews

Pokemon legends arceus reviews mystery gift

Pokémon Legends: Arceus launches on Nintendo Switch in just two days, and that means it’s review time. Game Freak is shaking things up with this entry, taking players back to the ancient Hisui region to create the first Pokédex. It ditches Gym Leaders and curated routes in favor of Noble Pokémon battles in a semi-open world. Early reviews have been largely positive about these changes, and it’s currently sitting at an average score of 86/100 on Metacritic. That’s based on 37 positive reviews and 3 mixed ones, and it’s the best score for a Pokémon game since Sun and Moon.

Reviews are praising Pokémon Legends: Arceus for its willingness to stray from the classic formula. Most found the gameplay loop satisfying and addictive, its battle system refreshing, and its story interesting. On the flip side, it’s receiving a lot of criticism for underwhelming graphics and technical performance. Ugly textures, pop-in, and frame rate drops were mentioned in many reviews. Our review is forthcoming, but in the meantime, you can check out a round-up of reviews from other outlets.
