Pokémon GO is coming to Pokémon TCG with an expansion in summer 2022

The Pokémon Company surprised fans of the TCG by announcing a special collaboration between the trading card game and Pokémon GO to release a new expansion based on the popular mobile game.

The Pokémon TCG has featured expansions based on countless Pokémon games since pretty much the very beginning, so it’s a little surprising to see that it is finally being done with the mega global hit Pokémon GO, which has been around since July 2016.

The trailer is literally six seconds long, so we don’t really get to see much. It does, however, give us a peek at the Pokémon TCG Pokémon GO package. The package features some of the prominent Pokémon we’ve seen in the mobile game, including Mewtwo, Pikachu, Larvitar, Blissey, Gyarados, and Aipom. The card game will likely get features from Pokémon GO like PokéStops and Item Cards. The package also shows Professor Willow, so we can expect to see his presence on a Supporter Card for the expansion, along with his assistants and team leaders Candela, Blanche, and Spark.

We don’t have a specific release date or further information about the collab, but stay tuned for more.
