Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl overview trailer

Fifteen years ago, Game Freak released Pokémon Diamond and Pearl on Nintendo DS. The fourth generation of Pokémon made bold new changes to the visuals and battle system, and the games were hugely successful. Sinnoh fans (myself included) have been clamoring for Gen 4 remakes for years, and this week, that wish will finally be fulfilled. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl launch on Nintendo Switch this Friday, and Nintendo just released an overview trailer. If you’re still on the fence, check it out below to see what these remakes have to offer.

Take a journey through the Sinnoh region

This Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl overview trailer introduces the Sinnoh region and your rival, Barry. It also covers the bare basics, like fighting and catching Pokémon and challenging Gym Leaders to earn badges. Next, it goes over the new and improved Sinnoh region’s Grand Underground and Super Contest Shows, as well as the revamped Pokétch. The new trailer highlights some of the local and online multiplayer features, like battling and trading. Finally, it teases the many myths and legends of the Sinnoh region, as well as the villainous Team Galactic.

Whether you’re new to the generation or dusting off your nostalgia glasses for a return trip to Sinnoh, this overview trailer should give you a good idea of what to expect in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. And although it wasn’t covered in this trailer, we also know you’ll eventually be able to encounter many Legendary Pokémon in Ramanas Park. Do you plan to pick these remakes up later this week? And will it be your first trip to Sinnoh or a trip down memory lane? Let us know in the comments below!
