Video game ads are a common sight at Japanese train stations. However, the latest ads for Pokémon Shining Diamond and Brilliant Pearl (BDSP) in Japan are slightly different. The ads feature messages from rivals, friends, and even Team Galactic, who are looking forward to catching up with returning players in the remake.

The large-scale ads for Pokémon BDSP went up today in 12 locations across six different cities in Japan. There are 10 different messages from characters like Cynthia, Professor Rowan, and the rival Barry.

Here’s a translation of a message from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl rival Barry:

To whom I met at the Sinnoh region

Yo! It’s been a while!

You were the one I first challenged after receiving a Pokémon from the professor.
Since then, we’ve had countless Pokémon battles.
They were so fun!

I lost a few of those battles back then, but I won’t lose the next one!
Why? Because I’m going to become the best trainer and Champion!

So, you better not lose to anyone else before losing to me, you hear me!?
Our battles will never end! Got it? Well, I’ll see you in the Sinnoh region!

Pokémon Shining Diamond and Brilliant Pearl will be released on November 19, 2021, and the rival and friend advertisements will be available to check out starting today until November 14, 2021. In case you missed it, you can watch the latest trailer in our previous report.
