PlatinumGames reveals 101 facts (actually 97) about the company

As we previously reported, PlatinumGames held a panel at PAX East to talk about its major new projects announced across the month of February: The Wonderful 101: Remastered, Project G.G., and the new PlatinumGames Tokyo studio. But in addition to hearing directly from producer Atsushi Inaba and director Hideki Kamiya, Platinum shared a video of 101 facts (actually around 97 facts) about the company, presented in a Star Wars scrolling style.

Twinfinite helpfully captured the 101 facts video and placed it on YouTube. Basically, if you ever wanted an avalanche of factoids about this company — merry Christmas.

You can pick out and dissect any random fact you’d like. In particular, I was surprised that PlatinumGames was founded with a whopping 59 people. Also, it’s cool that employees who stick with the company for five years get a solid platinum coin. (I hope they remember not to spend it at the arcade.) One-fifth of employees these days come from outside of Japan, an impressive example of globalization in the industry.

On the more random front, Platinum president Kenichi Sato apparently owns an “ultra-rare, not-for-sale Dreamcast bike” (presumably this one?). PlatinumGames also conducts a company-wide bowling tournament annually. And most importantly of all: Hideki Kamiya hates raisins. If you meet him, do not offer him a box.

Pause around this 101 facts video and absorb as much information as you can. Then tell us your favorite! Afterward, check out how Kamiya would kinda-sorta like to make a “Dante Vs. Bayonetta” and “Devil May Cry 0.”
