Atlus fans have been hyped for Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers since before the game was ever even formally announced. And unfortunately, fans in the West are still waiting to play it, and they began to worry whether an English localization would ever actually occur after developer Koei Tecmo removed the game from its schedule in its recent financial earnings report. However, via Persona Central, listings for Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers with an English option are emerging at Asian retailers, including Indonesia’s PS Enterprise, Pakistan’s Toy or Game, and potentially Singapore’s Qisahn.
PS Enterprise Facebook in particular has apparently stated that the listing for Persona 5 Scramble in English was made because the supplier confirmed the game will be released in 2021. Although, the likely supplier of the game in the Southeast Asian market is Sega, and Atlus West would handle a release here. Nonetheless, this is promising information. The Toy or Game listing in particular states an option for “English with Japanese or English voicovers,” which, if accurate, suggests a full-scale localization is in the works. Toy or Game and Qisahn list Feb. 23, 2021 as the specific release date, but that’s likely a placeholder.
Of course, we’re ultimately still grasping at straws here, as we have been for every step of this game’s existence. But if we’re lucky, maybe this unexpected fusion of Atlus, Koei Tecmo, and Omega Force styles will land in our laps sometime next year.
