The Switch is wonderful for new gaming experiences, but its hybrid, accessible design means that it is also excellent for revisiting old favorites. Plenty of classic games have made their way onto the Switch in one way or another, especially including Nintendo titles; Super Mario 3D All-Stars brought three classic Mario games to the platform, ports have emerged for nearly the entire first-party Wii U library, and dozens of NES, SNES, and Nintendo 64 games are available on the system through the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service. Several major third-party games have also appeared on the system’s steadily growing classic library; players can enjoy classic FPS such as Doom, retro Star Wars games, loads of Resident Evil, and plenty more. Like it or not, the Switch’s library includes many classic games, first- and third-party alike. If you could pick any third-party game to join that library, which would it be?
Personally, I would love to see Persona 3 finally release on the Switch in some form. Persona is one of my favorite series – so much so that the fourth and fifth games are my two favorite games of all time. I’ve tried Persona 3 FES a couple of times, and it is definitely excellent, but I have not been able to power through it for a variety of reasons, including a lack of portability (I know that there is a portable version of the game already, but I would prefer not to lose the more complete atmosphere of FES). I am simply not good at finishing console RPGs nowadays. The only way I can put in significant time is on a handheld. I know that I am going to love Persona 3 when I finally play it, and a portable version of FES would be a great way for me to finally jump into the game properly.
