Paper Mario: The Origami King leaks online ahead of launch

Paper Mario: The Origami King is almost upon us, but not soon enough to prevent a pre-release leak! This time, a well-known dataminer has posted a bunch of the game’s details and assets on Twitter, including character designs, music, textures, and more.

Twitch streams and YouTube videos showing full playthroughs of Paper Mario: The Origami King are also popping up online. It’s not an unfamiliar story, as a lot of major video game releases have leaked early recently, and Paper Mario: Color Splash on Wii U famously leaked early. That time around, an eShop leak occurred two weeks before release, so we’re not quite as far out from launch this time.

If you want to go into Paper Mario: The Origami King as fresh as possible, you should avoid the finer details and tread as lightly as possible around social media. Plus, Nintendo and Intelligent Systems worked hard to create a fresh and surprising experience, and they’re likely frustrated that all of these details have leaked early.

A few days ago, we posted a preview of what’s to come in The Origami King, if you’re after an overview of what the game has to offer. Paper Mario: The Origami King launches July 17.
