Team17 and Ghost Town Games have released a new trailer showcasing the latest free update, the Overcooked 2 Moon Harvest Festival update. It celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival from across China and East Asia. In-game, the update introduces three varieties of mooncakes, along with five new levels to cause mayhem on.
The levels themselves have a distinct style that we’re on board for, even though the lily pads look like a nightmare to navigate. They effectively act as disappearing platforms, meaning you’ll have to be on your toes in these kitchens. There’s a specific recipe laid out for the mooncakes, which is also shown in the trailer.
Although Overcooked 2 does have a paid season pass, the developers still deliver regular free updates. The Moon Harvest Festival update is one of them, and there’s a decent amount of free content to go at. Back in June, the developer delivered an equal amount of free DLC levels in the Sun’s Out Buns Out summer event. If support continues, we certainly welcome any more free content in the future.
If you’re looking to pick up a next-generation console to use alongside your Switch, Team17 is delivering a next-gen port of Overcooked. Overcooked! All You Can Eat brings the two existing games and all their DLC into one package. Remastered visuals and new accessibility options will also be introduced.
The Overcooked 2 Moon Harvest Festival update is live now on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
