I still can’t believe Mortal Kombat 11 is on Switch. Sure, it doesn’t look as good as its brethren on other consoles, but it’s still impressive. However, there are gamers among us feeling nostalgic for Kombats of years past. For those select few, a rumor video online is sure to get them excited. It looks like old stages might make their return in the form of DLC.
Old stages from Mortal Kombat II and 3, respectively
Take a look at the rumor clip below, thanks to one Mr. Alucard:
Those audio clips sound pretty authentic! I hope they are legit.
Dead Pool refers to a stage from Mortal Kombat II. It’s a bridge surrounded by acid. If you beat your adversary, you can knock them into the gunk and their skin melts off, leaving a skeleton behind. It’s pretty gnarly.
Soul Chamber is a level from Mortal Kombat 3. It has a face in the background with animated souls swirling around inside. It didn’t have a specific execution tied to it then, but perhaps Mortal Kombat 11 will add one if this gossip turns out to be true. Uppercut your opponent into the screaming vortex to celebrate your victory!
As always, take this rumor with a grain of salt. If it’s real, though, old stages making a return is a great idea. Also, Mortal Kombat 11 is being held back from greatness by not including stage fatalities. It’s time to rectify that mistake.
