Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm launched for Apple Arcade last September. It serves as a follow-up to Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas, delivering a full open world that clearly takes inspiration from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The sequel was recently confirmed for Nintendo Switch, and developer Cornfox & Bros. has now announced the October release date.
Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm releases Oct. 28 on Switch, meaning it drops a good three weeks ahead of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. We’re not sure Cornfox & Bros. would have wanted an official Zelda title to release so close, but for fans waiting for Breath of the Wild 2, this isn’t a bad headache to have.
Again, the team doesn’t shy away from its inspirations. In a quick rundown of what to expect from Oceanhorn 2, the team says you’ll be “traversing a Zelda-esque open-world landscape.” The game also features puzzles to solve, tactical battles to overcome, and up close and personal hack ‘n’ slash combat. If Oceanhorn 2 manages to build on the foundations of the first title by incorporating a huge open world to explore, this could be one to watch.
Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm preorders go live for Nintendo Switch on Oct. 21, a week ahead of launch. The preorder week features a 10% discount on the Switch eShop, in case you want to jump in early.
