No More Heroes gets Taiwan rating for Nintendo Switch

There are a number of us waiting with bated breath for the grand return of Travis Touchdown. No More Heroes 3 is still in development and presumably on track for this year. Developer Grasshopper Manufacture also expressed interest a while back in bringing the first two games to Nintendo Switch as a compilation with publisher Marvelous. Now things are looking up, because the original title in the series recently received a rating from the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee for release on Switch, as first spotted by Gematsu.

Unfortunately, I can’t read Chinese, and a quick Google translation only tells me that the Taiwan ratings board found that the plot of No More Heroes contains violence. Good to know! However, the fact that it’s likely receiving a release on the Switch at all is news that’s sure to be tantalizing to its rabid cult following. Aside from the title and “violence,” however, we don’t know if this will be a straight port of the original, a port of the PlayStation 3 / Xbox 360 version, a remaster, or (unlikely) a remake.

Personally, I would love to play a version of No More Heroes and its sequel on the Switch with upscaled graphics and motion controls. This listing makes it seem like we’ll at least be getting a chance to enjoy the first one sooner rather than later. Are you looking forward to getting back into Santa Destroy? Can’t wait to climb the assassin ranks all over again? Let us know!
