About the new model

In addition to the larger screen, the new and improved console also has a handful of other new additions. It features a wide adjustable stand, a dock with a wired LAN port, 64 GB of internal storage (double the original model’s storage), and enhanced audio. Nintendo Switch OLED Model also features a redesign of the Nintendo Switch Dock, boasting a beautiful light gray color palette, with the Joy-Con also sharing the gray color scheme.

Just don’t expect a boost in graphics. Nintendo’s fact sheet confirms that, just like the regular Switch, it will max out at 1080p and 60 frames per second when docked. The handheld screen is also 720p, just like the base model. The battery life is additionally the same as in the upgraded Switch model that replaced the launch model some time ago. The new model is compatible with all games, but it won’t “cleanly fit within the design parameters of the Nintendo Labo series.”

The Nintendo Switch OLED model launches on October 8, 2021 and will retail for $349.99.
