With the lack of available stock for both next-generation platforms becoming apparent, it seems Nintendo Switch is thriving. We’ve reported on a bunch of sales data and projections over the past few months, and more is coming. Today, we learn that Nintendo Switch sales in Spain were incredibly high during Black Friday week. In the gaming sector, Nintendo Switch hardware accounted for 72% of the overall market share in Spain during Black Friday sales week.
The system has hit 1.57 million sales to date in the country. While that may not seem a massive number compared to global sales, Spain by itself isn’t a huge market for Nintendo, although Switch seems to be enabling some growth there.
Some specific game sales data also came from a Nintendo Spain press release. Mario-related games have sold 2.4 million copies in the country on Switch, meaning some titles must have a terrific attach rate. Nintendo Spain also revealed the six bestselling titles for the platform in 2020, which include Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Mario Kart 8: Deluxe, Minecraft, Super Mario 3D All-Stars, Super Mario Odyssey, and Luigi’s Mansion 3.
That’s some impressive data coming out of Spain then, as Nintendo Switch continues to break records worldwide. Nintendo Spain must be pleased to have seized a 72% market share on Black Friday with Switch.
