Nintendo at San Diego Comic-Con will bring lots of Marvel & Hot Wheels

Nintendo San Diego Comic-Con plans

While E3 is only just now fading into the recesses of our memories, Nintendo still has plans to bring fun to the public. That’s right — it’s summer con season! And what better way to make an impression than by setting up a gigantic booth at the biggest, baddest one of them all: San Diego Comic-Con. The Big N has announced its plans for sunny California July 18 – 21. The focus will mainly be on Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, which releases on Friday, July 19. In fact, the main booth will be dedicated exclusively to the superhero title.

Beyond that, there will also be a Nintendo Gaming Lounge at the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina, located right next to the San Diego Convention Center. It will be open to the public. Playable games there will include Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, Pokémon Sword and Shield, Super Mario Maker 2, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring the Legend of Zelda, and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.

Nintendo Gaming Lounge events

Lots will be going on at the event for Nintendo. For starters, there will be people walking around in festive Nintendo character costumes. There will likewise be plenty of photo ops involving elements from various displayed games, like Luigi’s Mansion 3, Pokémon, and Super Mario Maker 2. And speaking of Mario Maker, Southwest Airlines will be hosting a Super Mario Maker 2 contest featuring a custom level. Those who play can enter to win a Nintendo Switch system, a digital version of Super Mario Maker 2, and a $500 Southwest Airlines gift card.

Attendees can further use a My Nintendo QR Code at the gaming lounge to get a Splatoon 2 Chaos vs. Order keychain set. And lastly, attendees can play with the new Mario Kart Hot Wheels, as well as buy them. An exclusive Metal Mario die-cast car and glider will be available there, with one in 10 including a special Gold Mario. You should get on line early for this $20 toy, so plan accordingly.

Finally, upscale candy company Sugarfina will show off new candy collections for the Nintendo Entertainment System and Super Mario Bros. They’ll be selling a collector’s set that features a NES Console Candy Bento Box with a two-piece Controller Candy Bento Box.
