From me to you: Nintendo partners with UK company Moonpig to sell greeting cards

Nintendo greeting cards

Nintendo loves to make great video games. It also likes to collaborate with other entities to sell merchandise based on those titles. Now, there is word the Big N is trying to break into the sentimental communication business. Nintendo is partnering with the UK-based corporation, Moonpig, to sell official greeting cards based on its properties.

I’m surprised it took this long to see Nintendo greeting cards hit the market

Here is a teaser for the cards from Nintendo UK, entirely bereft of sound:

Man, where’s the wordplay on these? You’re telling me the Yoshi card couldn’t proclaim, “I hope your wild dance party doesn’t leave you dinoSORE, Connie!”? A missed opportunity, to be sure.

Thankfully, the inside of the Nintendo greeting cards can be personalized, and you can add any name or photo to the front.

Check out all the card variants here. Some are inventive, but others seem a bit lazy. Very, “I just took some stock photos from the internet and called it a day.” I really dig this one, though. It’s got style:
