With 2020 disappearing in the rearview mirror, it’s time to look ahead and get excited about 2021’s offerings. Nintendo’s calendar is pretty bare so far, but that’s changing soon. Yesterday, they announced the return of Nintendo Direct. We haven’t seen a full-length showcase like this in over a year, so it should be jam-packed with reveals. Nintendo says we can expect updates on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as well as info on games releasing in the first half of this year.
If that sounds like an exciting time to you, then tune and watch today’s Nintendo Direct live with us! The show kicks off at 2:00 pm Pacific / 5:00 pm Eastern and runs for approximately 50 minutes. You can watch along by clicking the embedded video below.
Nintendo Direct returns
What to expect from the show
Aside from a look at Smash Bros. DLC, what can we expect from this Nintendo Direct? The possibilities are pretty much endless! There are major anniversaries to celebrate, like Zelda‘s 35th, Pokémon‘s 25th, and Donkey Kong‘s 40th. It’s been ages since we last saw an update on Breath of the Wild 2, Bayonetta 3, or… dare I say it… Metroid Prime 4. Nintendo could team up with indie partners to show off games like Sports Story or Hollow Knight: Silksong (I can dream), or bigger partners like Ubisoft. Aren’t we about due for some kind of follow-up to Rabbids? Whatever the case, we’re excited to see what Nintendo has in store!
