Nintendo Direct Announced For September 13 – What Games Will We See?

The rumor was true!

A Nintendo Direct is indeed happening on September 13, and while we don’t know exactly what it’ll be about, it’s confirmed to include both Switch and 3DS games.

With nearly 45 minutes scheduled, what games do you expect to see shown off? I see this as Nintendo’s big lead in to the holiday season, so my expecations are high.

My predictions

Super Mario Odyssey will have a presence. However, not too much, as we’ve already seen so much of the massive title.

Nintendo will announce release dates for Rocket League, Skyrim, Yooka-Laylee, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. These are four potential system sellers coming this year, and consumers need to know when they’ll be able to get their hands on them.

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will have a substantial amount of screen time as well, as it’s essentially the 3DS’ biggest game of the year.

In terms of new game announcements, I say we’ll get a couple. Nothing huge will be announced, as they want all the spotlight on their games being released within the next couple months. With that said, though, don’t be surprised if some 3rd parties make announcements in regards to 2017.

Something Nintendo has been quiet about so far is their Animal Crossing mobile game. While I don’t see them dropping any news about it in this Direct, there’s always a chance.

Lastly, does the big N make any announcements regarding their upcoming online infrastructure? Like AC Mobile, I doubt they’ll say anything during this presentation; however, don’t be surprised if they mention an upcoming Direct focused all around their online service coming in 2018.

What do you expect from this Nintendo Direct? Sound off in the comments below.
