Man uses toddler to makes off with Nintendo consoles from arcade machine

There have been many stories in the news in the past about small children getting stuck inside arcade machines. Sure, the prizes are quite inviting and it seems like a fun place to hang out in — that is, if you can get out. One unidentified man, however, took it to a whole new level by having a child climb into a machine to steal some Nintendo consoles. Specifically, the goods he made out with are a Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS.

The theft was caught on video and took place at the Mall at Rockingham Park in New Hampshire. A waitress who was working in the restaurant located next to the arcade machine was alerted by two other witnesses. The machine they stole from was a BarBerCut Lite arcade machine produced by Bandai Namco Amusement America, Inc.

“Two people came in and I heard them say, ‘That’s so unsafe.’ So I went outside and all I saw was the toddler’s head peeping out of the front of the machine.”

She quickly alerted mall security. Other witnesses were watching in disbelief, as we all know how easily that child could have gotten stuck inside. After security was alerted, the man, toddler, and another child quickly fled the scene of the crime. The man is now wanted by the Salem Police Department. Police are hoping by sharing the video and circulating the man’s image online that someone will be able to identify him. While to some this may seem funny since those games are meant to be hard to win and for you to blow your hard earned cash on, never put an innocent child’s safety at risk simply because you want what’s inside. (And obviously–don’t break the law either.)

The man according to police is described as being 20-30 years old, Hispanic, and sporting a beard. Hopefully, the man is caught and the goods returned and this serves as a lesson to all would-be thieves to never use children to do their dirty work for them.
