Nintendo Australia is shutting down its eBay storefront

Nintendo Switch - eBay - Australia

You may mostly know eBay for being a massive hub for everyday people selling their wares and knickknacks. But, companies also have storefronts on the e-commerce site as well. Nintendo has a few storefronts for its regional branches. In the “Land Down Under”, Nintendo Australia had such a storefront. But, it’s days are now numbered.

Going ahead and taking a look at the FAQ section of Nintendo Australia’s website, it mentions that its eBay storefront will cease all sales at the end of November 2020. Even with this notice, however, an actual reason for said closure has not been provided.

I tried to access the Nintendo Australia eBay store but was unable to turn up any current results. It’s unclear if the company has already moved its inventory, or if listings would only show up if accessed from within Australia. One possible reason for this closure could be due to the pandemic that business was reduced and perhaps in order to save cash, the company has decided to cut its losses and let the store go. If eBay is your preferred shopping method in Australia, it looks like you’ll have to vouch for either getting your Nintendo products via third-party sellers or going over to Amazon Australia instead.

Personally, I’ve found eBay to have some solid deals; the American version, at least. Not sure how you lot down in Australia prefer to buy your items, but I reckon’ that eBay “Down Under” edition must’ve been a good place to find a bit of gold every now and again. A real shame that this pandemic took it away from yous. Okay, okay, I’m going to stop trying to imitate an Australian accent in text now, and I apologize. Please do not send any kangaroos my way to deal with me, I hear that they can be pretty menacing.
