Tingle, everyone’s favorite Legend of Zelda character. In all seriousness, though, the 35 year-old, fairy-loving man has become a staple of the series. First appearing in Majora’s Mask, Tingle’s been in nearly every title since. A recent interview with Kensuke Tanabe reveals that Nintendo even had plans for Tingle to star in his own horror game.
“Looking back eight years ago, we were developing a horror game with Vanpool that starred Tingle as the main character,” said Nintendo producer Kensuke Tanabe. “But that project was canceled due to a variety of reasons,” he added.
Nintendo has created a few Tingle-led games, such as Freshly-Picked Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland and Tingle’s Balloon Fight DS. None of the titles launched in North America, however.
