Promoted as a cheaper, kid-friendly, accessible alternative to the 3DS and 3DS XL, the Nintendo 2DS launched in Europe at £109.99 back on October 12th. Two retailers in the UK have discounted the 2DS both in-store and online, while another has even began to bundle the 2DS with games.
A number of UK retailers, such as Tesco Direct, have dropped the price of the 2DS to £99 for just the system. While no confirmed limitations have been put on these discounts thus far, an opportunity from retailer Argos – offering the 2DS for £99 with bundle options Lego: The Lord of the Rings and Moshi Monsters: Katsuma Unleashed. Apparently, the deal will only be available starting October 23rd and ending October 26th.
Otherwise, retailers in other regions have not dropped the price of the 2DS, while Nintendo still has no confirmed plans for bringing the 2DS to Japan. The 2DS was announced back in August and was officially released in North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand on October 12th.
