Nindies Direct: Nintendo reveals Indie World showcase for August 19

For the past couple of years, Nintendo hosted a specially-themed Nintendo Direct that’s all about upcoming indie games. These usually come around on a semi-annual basis, typically during the winter and summer in the West. With the March presentation comfortably behind us, Nintendo announced our next live Nindies showcase for the month of August. Renamed to “Indie World” (probably to match the Japanese branding), our next indie-focused Direct will take place on August 19.

Nintendo will livestream Indie World this coming Monday at 6am Pacific, 9am Eastern. Moreover, this showcase will be a long one, lasting a good 23 minutes. If you’re near Seattle, there’s a good chance that the Nindies being showcased on Monday will be playable at PAX West too! Most indie games shown off during previous August showcases wound up up on the show floor, so I wouldn’t pass up a chance to go and try these this year if I were you!

Personally, I’m hoping we get some more news on the elusive Untitled Goose Game, plus new footage of Shantae and the Seven Sirens and A Hat in Time. The last Nindies Showcase in March did also reveal Cuphead and Cadence of Hyrule, so I’m curious to see if Nintendo has other surprises in store…

What are you hoping to see during the Indie World livestream? Let us know in the comments!
