After 22 long years, a sequel to Pokémon Snap is finally happening. New Pokémon Snap is scheduled to launch on April 30, and the eShop listing details more information about the game. The download size for the highly anticipated title will be 6.8 GB if you decide to purchase New Pokémon Snap digitally. The game’s eShop listing also suggests that the game will feature some form of online functionality. If I were to take a guess, this would probably involve sharing photos with friends and maybe even co-op play.
New Pokémon Snap takes place in the Lental Region, where an exciting phenomenon is taking place to warrant that download size. Players will investigate the Illumina phenomenon — a mysterious trait of the Lental Region where Pokémon and vegetation have a special glow. Observing Pokémon in this habitat will allow you to discover the secrets of the various islands that make up the environment.
Professor Mirror will join you on the journey, as you explore jungles, deserts, and other interesting locations. From the trailers, there seems to be a wide variety of Pokémon to capture with your camera. The visuals look outstanding, and it will be exciting to see whether or not this aspect transitions into the next mainline title (probably not, since it’s largely different developers). New Pokémon Snap is currently available to preorder at various retailers and the Nintendo eShop for $59.99 / £49.99. Are you excited for New Pokémon Snap?
