Over the weekend, ResetEra user Red Liquorice shared details of an alleged FromSoftware survey revealing the existence of a new Armored Core game, which will apparently be Armored Core 6. Many story and gameplay details were shared, but screenshots were not because they were watermarked. However, Red Liquorice has gone back and obscured those watermarks so that screenshots of the new Armored Core game can be shared after all. The result is an awfully blurry, fuzzy look at this apparent Armored Core 6, but the screenshots definitely looks like what you would expect to see in a new Armored Core: giant robots battling in large sci-fi settings. It seems quadlegs are back, baby.
According to the alleged FromSoftware survey, Souls series creator Hidetaka Miyazaki created the sci-fi world for this new Armored Core, which would be familiar territory for him since he’d worked on the franchise before. Everything we’ve heard about this game sounds traditional: in-depth mech customization, long-range gunplay and short-range blade melee, and a sci-fi story that most people will probably forget about instantly. However, if this game receives a AAA budget and the game design lessons learned from the Souls series, it could be a total home run. Stare at some more new (alleged, but very likely to be real) Armored Core game screenshots and tell us what you think.
