New App: Camp Pokemon Comes to iOS

In a continuing strategy to release more apps and software on mobile platforms other than the 3DS, the Pokemon company announced a new app today for iOS following the debut of its Pokemon Trading Card Game on iOS last month.

Camp Pokemon is a new iOS app developed by The Pokemon Company which contains a variety of kid-friendly mini games for children to play. The game is set on an actual island and has a variety of \”training exercises\” to prepare players for then upcoming release of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. There is one mini game for identifying Pokemon, another for throwing poke-balls, a third to test players\’ knowledge of Pokemon evolutions, and three other relatively simple mini games to entertain players.

Players who achieve high scores in the mini games will learn the \”secret\” behind the mystery cave.

This app is already released and is free on iTunes. Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, on the other hand, will retail for $39.99 and will launch on November 21st.
