The recent direct unveiled several new amiibo that are headed our way very soon. Ridley, Wolf, and Inkling were previously announced and are gearing up to hit store shelves on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launch day (Dec 7).
Likewise, we already knew King K. Rool was set to be captured in the collectible physical form. But now, he’ll join the Ice Climbers and the “surprise” DLC fighter Piranha Plant amiibo in stores next year on Feb. 15. Young Link, Pichu, Daisey, Ken, and Isabelle will be released at some point in 2019.
These new figures were announced alongside an update to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster with Street Fighter’s Ken, Incineroar, and the odd DLC addition of one of the denizens of Mushroom Kingdom, the Piranha Plant. Also, five more fighters are planned as upcoming DLC for the game. In addition to this, new assist trophies like Isaac from Golden Sun and Shadow from the Sonic series were highlighted. And lastly, what would a final Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct be without a new mode? The new Spirits mode was announced as a first for the series.
What do you think of the new collection of amiibo? Are you hoping for more Super Smash Bros. Ultimate champions to materialize as amiibo? From the direct presentation, it sounds like that is a strong possibility. How about an Incineroar amiibo? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
