NES Classic Returning in 2018; SNES Classic Will Have a Large Stock

Last year, Nintendo tickled the nostalgia bone of millions of people worldwide with the release of the NES Classic Edition. The miniaturized system was a replica of the 30-year old legend with a selection of well-known games that were touched-up for modern TVs.  Some people didn’t even buy it to play the games, but rather wanted it simply as a collector’s item. Regardless of the reasons, a whole lot of people wanted one. It was supposed to be a limited edition item, which resulted in a relatively small amount of units being produced. As a result, a lot of folks were left disappointed when production was discontinued after just a few months. Were you one of them? Well, good news—it’s coming back!

Nintendo has confirmed that the NES Classic Edition will be revived next summer. An exact release date has not yet been given, but now’s the time to start preparing!

If that’s too far out to satisfy your nostalgia-itch, then keep on the look out for the upcoming SNES Classic Edition. Like the original, the SNES Classic Edition is another mini redesign that includes yet another collection of well-known titles that have been touched-up for modern TVs. Nintendo has emphasized that it has learned from the massive popularity of the NES Classic Edition and has made sure to increase production for the SNES Classic Edition. Production will be running into 2018, so hopefully there won’t be as many people left out this time around.

The SNES Classic Edition will be launching on September 29th for $80. Will you be picking one up?
