SNK Corporation has announced with a trailer that NeoGeo Pocket Color Selection Vol. 1 launches today on Nintendo Switch. It includes 10 NeoGeo games in total, four of which were not previously available on Switch. The four new titles are Metal Slug: 1st Mission (single-player only), Metal Slug: 2nd Mission (single-player only), overhead action game Dark Arms: Beast Buster 1999, and Big Tournament Golf. The six titles included in the compilation that are already available individually include SNK Gals’ Fighters, Samurai Shodown! 2, King of Fighters R-2, The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny, Fatal Fury: First Contact, and SNK vs. Capcom: The Match of the Millennium.
Prepare to pay up though, as NeoGeo Pocket Color Selection Vol. 1 retails for $39.99. That may be a bit much for those who had already bought some or all of the original six games individually, though Metal Slug and Dark Arms seem like cool additions. Although, one random nice perk is that you can view 3D models of all the game boxes (apparently including the original instruction booklets) and their cartridges. Titles compatible with NeoGeo Pocket can be played with monochrome display as well, of course.
Just like with NIS Classics Vol. 1, the name NeoGeo Pocket Color Selection Vol. 1 suggests a second volume will be on the way to Nintendo Switch at some point, so stay tuned for more updates from SNK.
