Following an accidental leak yesterday, Square Enix has come out and confirmed that NEO: The World Ends with You will receive a playable demo on June 25, a little over a month before the game’s full release on July 27. Any progress that players make within the demo will carry over to the full game, so you’ve got nothing to lose by trying it out early and sinking a little bit of time in.
The demo reveal comes from a lengthy, five-minute trailer for the game, which you can watch below. Soon to be available on PS4 and Switch, the NEO: The World Ends with You demo will hopefully do a good job of convincing new players to take the plunge and try out this cult classic series.
Are you interested in a demo for NEO: The World Ends with You? Why or why not? I still haven’t played the DS original, so this newer release isn’t quite on my radar yet, but if I were looking for another way to get into the franchise, this demo would be a great, free starting point. The demo promises to introduce players to the game’s characters, combat, world, and story, and if the original game’s reputation is anything to go off of, that should be enough to win over quite a few new fans.
