NEO: The World Ends with You leaks in full from Square Enix Store error

NEO: The World Ends with You leak Square Enix Store full leaks digital code physical preorder Nintendo Switch

As first noted by ResetEra, many reports are coming in from players that NEO: The World Ends with You has leaked digitally in full for Nintendo Switch due to an error with preordering the game physically from the Square Enix Store. Apparently, those who preordered the physical Nintendo Switch version of NEO: The World Ends with You from the Square Enix Store have accidentally received a redeemable code for the digital version of the game, which installs the full game and allows them to start playing it immediately. The theory is that the codes Square Enix sent were supposed to include preorder bonuses, but instead it was accidentally the entire game.

The error seems to have been resolved within the past two-to-three hours, but those who have redeemed the game through the code are apparently able to keep and continue playing it without issue. That means you should be extremely wary of NEO: The World Ends with You spoilers and leaks on social media moving forward. Notably, this Square Enix Store error only occurred with the Nintendo Switch version of the game. It is also worth noting that, while it is possible to preorder and receive a download code for NEO through Amazon as well, this code will only allow you to pre-install the game; you will not be able to play it early.

NEO: The World Ends with You officially launches on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on July 27 with a PC release planned for later, but there will be a minefield of leaks to wade through from this point forward as a result of the Square Enix Store error.
