‘Namco Museum Arcade PAC’ will be sold as a Switch exclusive bundle this Fall

namco Museum Arcade PAC

Plenty of classic Namco arcade games are coming to Switch this Fall.  A total of 11 to be exact.  Bandai Namco revealed its upcoming Namco Museum Arcade PAC will be a Switch exclusive bundle.  The list of games includes arcade favorites like Galaga, Dig Dug, and of course Pac-Man.

The trailer for the upcoming Switch exclusive spends its 47-second runtime showcasing those games and other classics that come with them as well.  As a bonus, Bandai Namco is also including Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 Plus as part of the bundle.  Bumping the total number of games up to 12.  Making it the biggest collection of games the company has released since launching its Namco Arcade app for iOS and Android in 2016.

The app (which was delisted in app stores on March 31, 2016) included nine games.  Only four titles from the app (Pac-Man, Galaga, The Tower of Druaga, and Rolling Thunder) are part of the Namco Museum Arcade PAC.  Differentiating it from earlier compilations.  What also adds to the bundle and arcade experience on the Switch as opposed to other consoles is a new peripheral.  Late last month we reported on a Kickstarter project called the Flip Grip.

Which allows people to play classic arcade games on the Switch vertically instead of horizontally.  By allowing arcade games to be played vertically, the new peripheral utilizes every pixel of the Switch’s screen when it is being used in handheld mode.  When classic arcade games are played horizontally, only the center part of the screen is utilized.

As of today, the project has demolished its July 9 goal of $42,500.  Collecting over $112,000 from over 6,000 backers.  What game are you most excited to play when the Namco Museum Arcade PAC is released on September 28?  Comment below!

UPDATE:  Thanks to a tweet from @Wario64, we now know the bundle’s price.  The physical copy is now available for pre-order on Amazon for $39.95.
