My Nintendo members can use Gold Points towards Switch Online subscription

In case you didn’t catch last week’s Nintendo direct, the Switch Online service is finally set to arrive this week on Sept. 18th. For the first time, users will have to pay to use Nintendo’s new online service however Nintendo is making it a little cheaper for My Nintendo members.

According to the FAQ page on Nintendo’s official website, users can use their My Nintendo Gold Points towards their Switch Online subscription.

Can I use My Nintendo Gold Points to purchase the Nintendo Switch Online membership?

Gold Points can be used when purchasing a membership in the Nintendo eShop. They cannot be used for auto-renewal.

This promotion is good news for regular My Nintendo users. If you happen to have Gold Points saved up, you could potentially get free months of the online service.
